Your first appointment at POSC

Attending your appointment

Please arrive 10 minutes early as you will be provided with a patient registration form to be completed prior to your appointment with our specialists.

We will endeavour to keep on time however please feel free to call our friendly reception staff prior to your appointment to see how the clinic is tracking.

To assist in your examination please wear either a comfortable singlet or t-shirt to your appointment. Clinic gowns will also be available for patients to wear.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Medical Imaging

Please bring along with you to your appointment any relevant hard copy medical imaging, radiology reports or nerve conduction studies you may have.

Medicare & Private Health Insurance

You will need to bring your Medicare card and Private health insurance details. If you hold a DVA or Pension card please also bring this along to your appointment.

Medications

If you are taking any medications please bring a list of these with you to your appointment.

Workers Compensation

If your injury is related to a workers compensation or motor vehicle claim please ensure you have your claim number and other relevant paperwork with you at your appointment. If you do not yet have a claim number you will be required to pay your fee in full on the day of your consultation.

All Workers Compensation and MVA patients are required to pay the consult fee on the day of appointment and then claim back from your insurance company with the invoice and receipt given to you on the day.

Appointment fees

Initial consultation fee (In person or phone consult) $200

GP referred Medicare patients will receive a $78.05 rebate

Subsequent appointments (In person or phone consult) $120

GP referred Medicare patients will receive a $39.25 rebate

If a steroid injection is performed during your consultation or a splint/brace is supplied, this will attract an extra fee.
