Background and training
Dr. Wael Chiri is a Specialist Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand Surgeon who is determined to achieve the best outcome for his patients. He completed his medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 2009 and undertook his Orthopaedic Surgical training in Perth from 2016 to 2020. Dr Chiri then completed a 1-year Hand and Upper Limb Postgraduate Fellowship with one of the international leaders in Upper Limb Surgery, Professor Gregory Bain in Adelaide, South Australia.
Dr Chiri has completed several research projects which have been published in International Journals in Orthopaedics. He has also presented his work at a number of national conferences. He is dedicated to continuing research with the aim of using those results to improve patient care and outcomes.
Dr Chiri is employed at Fremantle Hospital as a Hand Specialist at the Fremantle Hand Unit. He also lectures the medical students at Curtin University.
